Situated less than half an hour’s drive west of downtown Sydney, the course is bisected by a main highway (A3 Centenary Drive), with holes 10 to 17 accessed via an underpass beneath this busy arterial road.
Tom Howard laid out the original course, with Cooks River now coming into play several times on both the front and back nine holes, especially at #6, #8 and #13 when the creek crosses in front of the green.
Other highlights at Strathfield include the tough par four opener; back-to-back par threes (at #5 and #6); the left doglegging par five 15th; and the par four finisher with the creek to the left and four big bunkers surrounding the home green.
