The best 36 holes anywhere in the UK (if not the world?), but the new just wins the race in my view. The old is achingly beautiful, but the new feels a more grown up golf course in some ways and the routing, in my vew, is stronger than the old. One great hole after another. Playable but challenging. Its not cheap to play both, but it may be the best £250 you ever spend at a golf club, and may be the best days golf you ever have. The reception you receive, the service from every single member of staff, the friendliness of the members all count towards a day in golfing heaven. If I could only ever play one course again for the rest of my life, it would be The New at Sunningdale or Royal St Georges, which I think says it all. If I could give 7 stars, I would.
