The new course at Sunningdale was designed by renowned architect Harry Colt and opened for play in 1923.
Architect Tom Simpson was appointed in 1934 to re think holes 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10 as they were thought to be to excessively undulating.
Over the years the New Course has to a degree 'lived in the shadow' of the Old Course.
But now it has garnered a reputation as one of the best courses in the United Kingdom
The London Heathlands are 'one of the great golfing destinations in the world', possibly the best..
Courses such as St Georges Hill, Swinley Forest, The Berkshire Red & Blue, and the two courses at Sunningdale are absolutely world class.
Travelling Golfers should make it a priority to experience the heathlands.
