Tagaytay Midlands
Tagaytay Highlands is home to three residential communities: Highlands, Midlands and Greenlands and a pair of Richard Bigler-designed 18-hole golf courses are laid out within the first two of these housing projects.
Set out on high ground to the north of Taal Lake, a freshwater caldera lake in the province of Batangas, the Midlands course occupies a 150-acre site with a funicular transport system linking the clubhouse to the Highlands clubhouse.
The course extends to just over 7,000 yards, playing to a par of 72, with holes set out as two returning nines. Water comes into play at a couple of holes early on in the round: a small pond fronts the par three 3rd and an irrigation lake lurks to the left of the tough par four 4th.
Other notable holes include the par three 5th (with the green surrounded by three large bunkers); the long par four 15th (rated stroke index 2); and the right doglegging par five 18th which plays to a shallow home green protected by three bunkers to the front of the putting surface.
