Talking Stick Golf Club (O’odham)

Owned and operated by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, the 36-hole golf complex at Talking Stick Golf Club was unveiled in 1997, sporting two Coore & Crenshaw-designed courses. The O’odham, formerly called the North course, is longer than its sibling, featuring a fascinating set of green complexes.

Architect Bill Coore said: “our charge was to create two golf courses to accommodate public play yet each decidedly different, with respect to playing characteristics.

The O’odham course, with its broad, angular holes, rewards thoughtful play through the rise of its many options according to one’s level of skill. Its low profile, slightly crowned greens and close-cropped approaches encourage running as well as aerial assaults.”
