After an eternal trip that took 3 flights with 3 different airlines touching 3 countries I arrived 9am to Scottsdale and staight off to the course to play it in late June just before the summer.

Given that they took the basic design of several greens on the South (Piipaash) course - very heavily criticized here - and made them a bit larger at another site declared by some to be a "Masterpiece"** one wonders what observers are seeing and what they really know about architecture.

I agree with several comments other reviewers have made relating to Talking Stick's Piipaash course as rating among the lowest Coore and Crenshaw designs they have played.

I hate to say it, but as a lover of Coore and Crenshaw this course is my least favorite of the dozen or so of theirs that I've played.

The Piipaash course at the Talking Stick Casino/Hotel/Resort designed by Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw is a very average golf course suitable more for people who rarely play.

Coore and Crenshaw are often lauded as one of the best golf course architects of the last 20 years and their courses appear in the top 100 rankings of many publications.
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
