Te Arai Links (North)
Unveiled in 2023, the North course at Te Arai is the second of two brilliant 18-hole layouts to operate at an exciting new public-access golf complex that’s owned and operated by fund manager Ric Kayne and managing partner Jim Rohrstaff – who are also both involved in the nearby golf development at Tara Iti.
Tara Iti remains a member-only facility while both the North and South courses at Te Arai Links are accessible to the public, alternating daily between a “Private course” for Te Arai Links members and their accompanied guests and a “Resort Course” for resort guests and green fee-paying players.
Designed by Tom Doak, the fescue fairways of the North course take golfers on a tree-lined journey from the coast into the forest then back out towards Little Barrier Island at the 8th. The process is then repeated on the back nine, with players heading inland until returning to the final three coastal holes for a dramatic seaside finish.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
