Timaru Golf Club

Established in 1894, Timaru Golf Club moved to its current location in the late 1950s. In more recent times, an irrigation system and a couple of lakes have been installed to ensure the layout is always looking its best.

Situated a short 10-minute drive north of Timatru, next to the Richard Pearse Airport, the course occupies a triangular-shaped property extending to around 110 acres, with holes routed around a centrally located irrigation lake.

Measuring 6,144 metres from the back markers and playing to a par of 72, the course is laid out as two returning nines, with the lake coming into play to the right of the fairway on both the par four 10th (“Aoraki”) and the par four 18th (“Home”).

Other holes of note include the par five 2nd (“Tipperary”) with out of bounds on the right; the slightly left veering par four 7th (“Boothy”) which is rated stroke index 1; and the par three 15th (“Centennial”) where a small pond sits to the right of the green.
