Walt Disney World and its resorts have proven themselves adept at gathering funds from tourists the world over, so some may feel inclined to spend their golf funds elsewhere while on a family vacation. The Tranquilo Golf Club located at the Four Seasons Resort near Lake Buena Vista is one of the better options for doing so.
The Tom Fazio-designed course is a true escape from the crowds, with the first few holes getting away from the resort and moving farther and farther into the wilderness. This is a true out-and-back 18, so you won’t even be bothered by small groups at the turn.
Once out in the relative wilderness, you’ll also seem to have arrived at the beach, due to the large amounts of sand used to create waste areas along fairways. Although water exists — Disney World was built atop a swamp, after all — Fazio relies on these sand hazards to provide challenge far more often than he does liquid (after a few days waiting in line for rides, you don’t need the further stress of lost golf balls).
The LPGA is also a fan, swinging by for the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions.
