Tres Vidas

Cancun, on the Atlantic coast, has become the resort of choice for many modern day visitors to Mexico but Acapulco, on the Pacific side of the country, still attracts a substantial number of tourists every year.

Many of the pleasure seekers who fly down to Acapulco Bay are golfers intent on playing one or more of the quality golf courses – the Tres Vidas, Mayan Palace, Fairmont Acapulco (Princess) and (Pierre Marques) – that lie near the city airport in the Playa Revolcadero area.

Robert Von Hagge’s Tres Vidas is the best of this quartet and the course sits on a spectacularly rumpled piece of low-lying land between a lagoon and the ocean, with many of the palm-lined fairways constructed around beautiful natural lakes.

Recently renovated by Kelly Blake Moran, a former Von Hagge associate, Tres Vidas is routed in two loops along the coastline, with each set of nine holes returning to an elegant beachfront clubhouse that looks out over the ocean.
