Review for Trevose (Championship)

Reviewer Score:

Played in glorious weather in late August which made the courses defences somewhat tame. A very natural links with most holes laid out in front of you, wide fairways and the rough cut back made it an extremely inviting challenge. Par 5's were all near enough reachable enabled a pleasing score to be constructed. Both par 3's coming home required well struck longer irons and the par 4's a nice mix of long and short. Much is made of holes 13 thru 16 being rather weak but I found them a respite from some of the uphill 400 yard + 4's which were all potentially card wreckers. Greens were of a consistent pace, dissapointingly there was no mention of the recent hollow tining when we made our original booking. Fairways were bare and divot laden but I am prepared to give the benefit of doubt to the green keepers due to the recent run of blistering weather. Overall a fair seaside track but not on a par with the likes of Deal, Brancaster or Saunton, 5 balls will suffice .
