Triggs Memorial
Originally built on the site of the Obadiah Brown Farm, Triggs Memorial Golf Course is an early 1930s Donald Ross design which is rather flat on the front nine but displays significant elevation changes on the inward half.
Owned by the City of Providence Parks Department, the course was given over to FCG Associates to manage under a lease agreement in 1990. Since taking over the operation of the golf facility, this third party firm has invested in substantial capital improvements, including the upgrade of the irrigation system, cart paths and bunkers.
Triggs Memorial is characterized by long, difficult par fours, reachable par fives and demanding par threes, with fairways beautifully routed around a tight, 100-acre parcel. Holes appear to effortlessly follow the natural contours of the property site, enhancing the strategy and course management required when tackling any Ross layout.
