Trump National - Jupiter

Opened as the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa in 2002, this facility was the hotel’s first foray into the private golf club market, with a Jack Nicklaus Signature design as the sporting centrepiece of an exclusive residential community. Ten years later, it was sold on and assimilated into the Trump portfolio of golf clubs and renamed as Trump National Jupiter.

In The American Private Golf Club Guide, author Daniel Wexler has this to say about the layout: “fairways are flanked by scrub-filled water areas, giving it a pleasantly rustic feel, with front nine standout including the 403-yard 3rd (where water and a centreline bunker define the tee shot) and the 463-yard 5th, which offers a tree-narrowed fairway and a near S-shaped green.

The 171-yard 11th plays to an island green while the 193-yard Redan-like 14th culminates in a narrow putting surface angled right to left behind a huge bunker. The close is also notable, with the 350-yard 16th daring a water-cheating drive, the 560-yard 17th playing to a green tucked left, and the 464-yard bunkerless 18th requiring a long second to a green angles dangerously behind another pond."

Florida

Florida “The Sunshine State” needs little introduction. The famous peninsula panhandle is where many Americans escape for the winter and it’s also the State that is most commonly visited by foreign golfers in search of tropical conditions and lush fairways. There are more than 1,250 Floridian golf courses, more than any other State, and many are open to the green fee-paying public, however, if you want to play the very best golf courses in Florida it will require effort and skilful networking.
