Tylney Park
Originally laid out by Donald Steel in the early 1970s, the course at Tylney Park Golf Club was subsequently upgraded by a former Steel associate, Tom Mackenzie, thirty years later.
This involved a significant redesign, with six new holes and an ornamental lake built on adjacent farmland. All greens were constructed to USGA specifications.
Today, the course extends to just over 7,000 yards from the back markers, playing to a par of 72, with water coming into play only once, at the par three 13th, where a serpentine pond lies to the left of the hole.
Notable holes include the par four 7th (rated stroke index 2); the par five 14th (with three bunkers fronting the green; and the 174-yard 17th which plays to an offset green with two sand traps lurking right of the putting surface.
