Situated half an hour’s drive east of downtown Louisville, the University of Louisville Golf Club – formerly the Cardinal Club – is owned and operated by the University, with a 7,192-yard Spencer Holt-designed layout in play.
An extremely good course. Very nearly worth 5 golf balls. Best part about it is the amount of width and angles. A drastic miss into the native grass is the only thing that can take you out of most holes. Otherwise, with the exception of the few holes lined with water, you can play from just about anywhere. My personal favorite is the 6th, a solid risk-reward par 4 that can be reached by longer hitters. U of L Club is the 2nd best course I've played in Kentucky to Valhalla. It deserves more love as a great college course across the US.
