Vårgårda

Vårgårda Golf Klubb was formed in 2001 but it took another eight years before the club’s course was completed on 30th April 2009. Featuring five par threes and five par fives, today’s layout measures 5,660 metres from the regular tees.

Interestingly, the course is configured with back-to-back par fives on both the front nine and the back nine; at #7 and #8 then at #13 and #14. Highlight hole on the outward half is the downhill short par four 5th which veers right towards a heavily sand-protected green.

Water hazards come into play on the inward half: both the par five 11th and par three 12th have ponds positioned close to the green whilst the par four 15th requires an aerial approach to avoid a wetland area 100 metres in front of the green.

All five par threes on the card are good holes but the best is kept until last at the 130-metre 16th, where a long, narrow water hazard runs the length of the fairway, punishing shots pulled to the left – and for those avoiding this aquatic threat by playing too far to the right, there are three bunkers lying in wait.
