Laid out next to Bjertorp Castle, the fairways at Vara-Bjertorp Golfklubb have been in play since 1990, three years after the club was inaugurated. The landscape in this part of Västgötaslätten is pretty flat so the course is an easy walk.

Vara-Bjertorp
Laid out next to Bjertorp Castle, the fairways at Vara-Bjertorp Golfklubb have been in play since 1990, three years after the club was inaugurated. The landscape in this part of Västgötaslätten is pretty flat so the course is an easy walk.
The course measures 6,260 metres from the tips, with par set at 72 (36 out then 36 in). The layout is arranged as two returning nines and water comes into play at almost half the holes, most notably on the final four, where ponds beside the green protect par on the run for home.
Highlight holes include the par five 5th (bending left to a putting surface with sand to the left and water to the right of the green); the right doglegging 12th (with more water to the right of the fairway); and the closing par four 18th, where the home green sits behind yet another intimidating aquatic hazard.
