Vejle (Parken & Skoven)

The picturesque Danish town of Vejle lies on the southeast coast of the Jutland peninsula and a few miles outside the town, on the forested southern flank of the Vejle Fjord, sits a modern golf complex consisting of three 9-hole courses, a driving range and a par 3 course.

The golf club was formed in 1970 and, from very humble origins, their initial course expanded from just a couple of holes to eleven holes then finally a full 18-hole course by 1977. Fifteen years later, a further nine holes were added to complete the set-up so now the members are in the fortunate position of having three courses to play by mixing the three 9-hole layouts.

The three nines were originally colour coded, Red, Yellow and Blue, but each loop has now been renamed to; Parken (Park), Skoven (Forest) and Sletten (Plain). The Forest loop is the shortest but most dramatic, featuring significant elevation changes, rivers and streams. The Park nine is tight and tree-lined, while the Plain nine more open in aspect, relying on bold bunkering.

Vejle Golf Club completed a comprehensive renovation during 2010-2012 under the design and supervision of Danish architect Philip Spogárd. 18 greens and greens complexes were changed to create a much-improved playing experience. All bunkers were redesigned and repositioned and 13 tees were renovated.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
