Verdura Resort (East Links)

This is a typical resort course, open and fairly nondescript apart from last 3 holes, tees in appalling condition due to changes, greens not great, i know it suffers from the heat, but left me cold, i just cant get my head around all the reviews placing this the 5th best course in Italy, having played most of the top 30, its no where near, yes it has 3 nice holes by the ocean but otherwise the layout is bland and just the same as most holiday courses, Kyle Phillips is one of the top Architects in the world and I've played several but in my humble opinion these two here are very ordinary compared to his heady heights

If you’re staying at the resort or nearby, it’s worth a visit—just don’t expect a classic links experience throughout, and maybe leave the scorecard in the bag and focus on the views.

I’m going to be very critical, but I thoroughly enjoyed my round at Verdura Links, on a remarkably windy day.

I came across Verdura Resort many years ago but it was only last week when I was able to experience this beautiful part of the world, full of archeological history and in a Resort that is one of the best in Continental Europe.

Verdura Resort is worth the long trip for golf lovers.

The Verdura resort lies 200 kilometres west of Catania airport so it’s around 2½ hours to get here by road if Catania–Fontanarossa Airport is where you enter Sicily.
