Vestfold

Vestfold Golf Club was established in 1958 so it’s one of the oldest in Norway. The upgrading of their open parkland 18-hole course was carried out under the supervision of esteemed architect Jeremy Turner and his new layout was opened in 2002.

Six new holes have been added (and a 9-hole practice course created from the old holes) with all eighteen greens on the new course rebuilt to USPGA standard over a period of three years.

Unusually, the first hole is a par three then there is a run of six holes before the next short hole is played. The best hole of this stretch is the 561-yard, par five 3rd named “Sjuestok” which doglegs to the right and has a large pond positioned to the front left of the green.

The signature hole at Vestfold is “Utsikten,” the 441-yard, par four, 13th hole. It doglegs left, with a pond short right of the green and three menacing bunkers positioned alongside the putting surface.

Norway

Norway, thanks to the Gulf Stream, is not as chilly as you might think, the 'Land of the Midnight Sun' has warm summer days. The landscape is dramatic where the mountains sweep down into the crystal fjords. You’ll know about the Viking Norsemen who frightened and pillaged established European society a thousand years or so ago but you’ll be pleased to hear that today’s Norwegians are friendly down-to-earth people. So, if you are in search of stunning landscapes, crisp clean air and kindly Nature, look no further th
