There’s nothing fancy about what’s on offer here – it’s elemental golf in all its glory and if there’s nobody around the little clubhouse when you arrive to play then just pop your green fee in the honesty box and carry on regardless.
The layout extends to 2,657 metres from the regular tees, starting with a rare sight on any course – a 600-metre par six hole! Rated stroke index 1 on the scorecard, this is an absolute beast to take on when playing into the wind.
There’s another tough long hole to master at the 503-metre par five 6th but this one is counterbalanced by short par threes at the 3rd, 7th and 9th – and when we say short, the middle hole in that trio extends to no more than 98 metres.
