Villamartin could be a great course. It is set out on an interesting and undulating tract of land with many cleverly designed an genuinely exciting holes. The only problems are that the course is overplayed, the pace is painfully slow (during the season) and the condition is tired. With some TLC this could once more become one of Spain's great courses. As it stands at the moment it's simply an expensive pay and play.
