Review:

Yet another great Central Otago region Golf course that I've played several times to date ,was lucky enough to be first off the tee 8am on stunning lush conditions the Wanaka course offers in spades.

Located in a centralised township location offering stunning views across the front nine from a higher plain where you get a stream of spectacular PAR-4's

the 7-8-9 holes you won't find better for the price.

Moving to the back Nine is a tasteful change an envelope of Parkland away from the lake views where the trees seem far more prevalent , and finally you tee up your first PAR5 of the round.

Overall the course condition at the time was very good greens 4 weeks from coring played very nicely.

Not a difficult course with lush short rough wide forgiving fairways on many holes, greens that didn't have to many different breaks or any tiers I could recall so I found the tee shot far more important mistakes hurt far more than say a Cromwell GC ( Neighbouring course) where you could get away more so from a wayward drive but not on the greens which will make you pay from not getting the right weight, Now the Wanaka Greens I liked and made the most 1 to 2 putts for sometime and didn't have but one chip-pitch roll off.

I'll certainly be back again before long... but make sure you book with 950+ members it's a busy course when the suns out..
