The course at Werribee Park Golf Club is a mid-1970s design from Kevin Hartley who said: “while various hole arrangements were considered, the best in my view was the one that exists today. The only arguable shortcoming is that hole 18 is short.”

Occupying a property that extends to around 135 acres, the course measures just under 6,300 metres from the back tees, playing to a par of 72 (36 out then 36 back). The Werribee River meanders around the east and south perimeter, but it never actually comes into play at holes #7, #11 and #14 which are routed alongside this water course.
Highlight holes include the first of the par threes at the 163-metre 3rd (with out of bounds to the right); the uphill, right doglegging 395-metre 5th (rated stroke index 1 on the card); the 493-metre 11th (played into the southwest corner of the course); and the 310-metre 18th which bends slightly right to a well-bunkered home green.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
