West Monmouthshire Golf Club

Potentially the pinnacle of hilltop golf, West Monmouthshire Golf Club is officially the highest golf club in Great Britain. Located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the course offers breathtaking views of the Black Mountains and the surrounding countryside.

Founded in 1906 by local teachers and doctors, it is one of the oldest private members' clubs in the historic county of Monmouthshire, now Blaenau Gwent. Designed by Ben Sayer, the course is full of rugged charm, providing a unique challenge for golfers of all abilities.

Set in an attractive rural location, the course offers spectacular views. A standout feature is the 14th tee, which sits at over 1,500 feet above sea level, making it one of the most scenic spots in Welsh golf. The natural landscape provides a stunning backdrop for a challenging yet enjoyable round, with rolling fairways, rugged terrain, and panoramic scenery that changes with the seasons.

Rich in history and character, the course blends seamlessly into its surroundings, offering a truly unique golfing experience in the heart of Wales.
