- Address501 W Lake St, McCall, ID 83638, USA
The former logging town of McCall lies on the southern shores of Payette Lake, in the middle of the Payette National Forest, and the 1,300-acre Whitetail Club property is situated within this idyllic location. The private golf community features a range of all-season outdoor activities including boating, swimming, skiing, hiking and tennis.
Of course, the star sporting attraction at Whitetail Club is its 18-hole golf course, which architect Roger Packer and two-time US Open champion Andy North designed in 2002. Laid out as two distinct nines, the tree-lined outward half is routed around a large wetland area whilst the fairways on the more open inward half weave around a man-made lake.
Standout holes on the front nine include a couple of long par threes at the 225-yard 3rd and 205-yard 6th. The longer back nine features no fewer than four long par fours that measure in excess of 450 yards but the par five 15th, doglegging right around the aforementioned lake, is probably the most notable hole on the inward nine.
