Wicker Point Golf Club

Wicker Point Golf Club opened its doors in 2023, offering a unique golfing experience along Alabama's scenic Lake Martin. As you'd expect from Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, the 18-hole golf course blends natural landscape features with strategic design, creating a top-drawer private golf club experience.

Things moved quickly once Russell Lands secured county approval for the golf course in 2021. The course officially opened in September 2023.

Located next to Russell Forest and Lake Martin, the golf course showcases innovative hole layouts that capitalise on the region's unique natural terrain.

The native flora and topography have been leveraged to obtain:

• Varied terrain with elevation changes
• Lakefront views on the back nine
• Native hardwoods and pine landscapes
• Strategically placed creeks and bridges

From an agronomic point of view, the course features Zeon Zoysia for approaches, tees, and fairways. TifEagle Bermudagrass has been used on the greens. Out-of-play areas will showcase native Alabama grasses and wildflowers, enhancing the natural ecosystem.

Located in a humid subtropical region, the Lake Martin area provides ideal golfing conditions. Optimal golf seasons are spring and fall, with mild temperatures and low humidity. However, the course remains open year-round.
