Wildstone

Jeff Lawrence, a former associate of Tom Fazio, laid out the Wildstone Golf Course which opened for public play in 2011. Working for Black Knight Design, a subsidiary of Gary Player Design, the architect fashioned the first Canadian layout that Gary Player’s company had ever constructed.

Situated in south east British Columbia, not too far from the tourist town of Kimberley, Wildstone stretches to 7,127 yards from the back tees, with fairways set out amongst the rolling highlands above Cranbrook, where stunning views of the Rocky Mountains dominate proceedings from start to finish.

Set within a large residential development, the course is configured with five par fives, the best of which is also the shortest at the 505-yard 9th, where pine trees split the fairway to give approach options. On the back nine, the 174-yard 16th is the second of consecutive par threes, with water to the front and right of the green adding pressure to the tee shot.
