Windsong Farm Golf Club

The firm of Fought and Lehman designed the course at Windsong Farm Golf Club. Tom Lehman needs no introduction and John Fought has designed numerous courses most notably Pumpkin Ridge and Crosswater (with Bob Cupp). Opening for play in 2003, Windsong Farm is perhaps the finest creation from Fought and Lehman, who have since separated to form their own independent design companies.

Set on the rolling terrain of a former 248-acre horse farm, the course at Windsong Farm doffs its cap to collection areas inspired by Donald Ross with large greens that break subtly and traditional square tee boxes. “In due time I believe that Windsong will compare favorably to the best of the courses in North America,” commented Fought. “I am privileged to have been part of the design process, and am very proud and humbled by the result.”

Perhaps the most memorable holes are the 3rd and the 18th, the former is a short par four that presents an early birdie opportunity and the latter is a cracking closing hole that doglegs to the right with water running all the way down the right side.

Six tee boxes provide excellent playing options for all levels of golfer but the championship tips which stretch the course out to almost 7,350 yards, should be left well alone for most mortal golfers.
