Woburn Golf Club (Duchess)

The Duchess was the 2nd course I played in my quest to play all 3 of the Woburn courses.

It is clear when you step on to the first tee of the Duchess, you are going to need a supremely accurate tee-game to have any chance to play this course well.

At just over 6500 yards, Ma’am might be short in size, but…

…what she lacks in length she makes up for in one of the greatest strategical courses you’ll be privileged to meet.

Completed all 3 Woburn courses now all very good, personally this was my least favourite but that is being a tad harsh, all are great.

The three courses at Woburn offer a subtle variety in terms of the questions they ask, but a quality they all share is that they provide a special atmosphere that defines a round of golf here.

The “Duchess” is a nice course and one I do think you need to play to be able to make your own option on but for me it is definitely the third best one and that’s okey it’s got some great holes and is very challenging off the tee, whist having an echo when you smash a ball which is awesome but I just felt it lacks a little something that the other two courses definitely have.

Played all three courses at Woburn as a member and this one is by far my favourite and the best!

The afternoon of our 36 hole day at Woburn took us to The Duchess and completed the set of three very different courses at the superb Woburn Golf Club.
