Wolf Creek Golf Resort - Links Course
A new Rod Whitman-designed nine joins forces with the existing nine-hole South course to create the inspiring Links at the ever-popular Wolf Creek Golf Resort in Ponoka.

Ralph Vold, a former top professional Canadian sportsman, was the developer of the Wolf Creek Resort. By the mid-1990s he’d established a fine 27-hole golf complex on his brother’s ranch in Ponoka, which lies between Edmonton and Calgary, with Rod Whitman routing the fairways around a substantial property.
Fast forward fifteen years to 2010 when a new 36-hole facility was unveiled at the resort and this configuration brought into play an 18-hole Old course (comprising the original East and West nines) and a new Links course, which combines the old South nine with a new Whitman-designed nine holes.
The relatively wide fairways on the new circuit of nine are particularly good, featuring huge sandy waste areas, cleverly contoured green sites and wild, fescue-fringed bunkers. The long par four 12th is a highlight hole on the new nine, encompassing a challenging centre-split fairway which blends into the adjacent 13th hole.

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
