Woodlands Country Club (Cedar & Pine)
Swedish architect Hans Fock designed the original 18 holes at Woodlands Country Club and the Cedar & Pine loops meander through a beautiful forest. Opened for play in 1991, it’s a thorough test of golf, highlighted by some truly fun par threes.
The Cedar loop extends to 2,789 metres from the back tees, with holes configured as three par threes, three par fours and three par fives. Water comes into play on the first two short holes (at #2 and #4) then there are ponds to avoid on either side of the fairway at #5 to #7.
The 9-hole Pine circuit measures a little longer at 3,015 metres from the tips and water also features here in the shape of a stream that meanders through the property, especially at the par four 6th where it cuts in front of the green then wraps itself round the back of the putting surface.
The more modern Magnolia nine is a Donald Steel par 35 design that was introduced in 2010.

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
