Played here with a society on a lovely sunny day towards the end of the summer, the place was in very good condition and the staff were very friendly and obliging. The combination of elevation changes, trees and heather kept the course feeling fresh and novel all the way around, and I felt if it had more variety than nearby New Zealand which I'd had the good fortune to play a few weeks earlier. As others have noted, it's not an overly punishing course, but the fast greens caused many of us to three putt our good scores away that day. I was overjoyed to birdie the 13th which was the highlight of my round. The slight annoyance caused by 2 grumpy male members who thought it was their right to play through the whole society was offset by much more genteel lady members in the clubhouse whose apologies more than made up for this. I can recommend the (jacket & tie) lunch - especially the treacle tart. A fine course, I'll be back soon.
