I’ve not played Wrangaton for a while, but it is absolutely a course with a split personality that has 9 bunkerless and treeless moorland holes with greens protected by electric fences and 9 parkish holes that are more conventional in style and design. This is a tough track to score well on despite its very modest yardage and it’s a bit bleak up here when the weather is grim (as it often is on Dartmoor). However, when the sun is shining and the wind is light, this is a most agreeable course that drains well and can play hard and fast. What I like most at Wrangaton is the varied nature of the golf holes and for that reason it holds the attention and is worth inspecting.
