Wynn Golf Club

Golf has been played on this Vegas Strip site since the early 1950s when the Desert Inn—or DI as it was known—jumped into the golfing limelight when the Lawrence Hughes-designed layout hosted the Tournament of Champions from 1953 to 1966. Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer dominated the event at the end of its tenure here, with the Golden Bear and The King winning all five titles between 1962 and 1966.

At the start of the new millennium, Steve Wynn demolished the DI property and built Wynn Golf Club in the backyard of his new Wynn Las Vegas casino hotel. The course was the result of collaboration between Wynn himself and Tom Fazio. It has been described as an Augusta National-like playground in the desert.

The 7,042-yard course closed in December 2017 to make way for further property developments. In October 2019 a shortened 6,722-yard layout reopened after a substantial makeover by the original architect and his son Logan Fazio.
