Democratic Republic of Congo

The Democratic Republic of Congo is the third largest country in Africa and has been known by a plethora of former names including Zaire, Belgian Congo and Congo Free State to mention three. Naturally the country is dominated by the Congo River, which arcs its way across the country for nearly 3,000 miles.

Naturally the country is dominated by the Congo River, which arcs its way across the country for nearly 3,000 miles.

The Democratic Republic of Congo has a handful of golf courses and there is a fine 18-hole tree-lined course in the capital city at Golf Club de Kinshasa, which is a testing par 72 6,235-yard layout. Another course worthy of mention is Golf de Lubumbashi which is set in the second largest city (the largest city being the capital, Kinshasa). The 18-hole Golf Club Diosso is considered to be a testing course with sand greens.

We may feature a course from the Democratic Republic of Congo on the Top 100 website at some future point, so if you have first hand experience of either course or even a course photograph, we’d love to hear from you.
