Shikoku
Nestled to the south of Honshu and east of Kyushu, Shikoku emerges as Japan's intimate golfing gem, spanning around 7,000 square miles. Its serene landscape, dotted with lush greens and rolling hills, hosts a population of approximately four and a half million across four prefectures. Most dwellers inhabit the island's less rugged north, where mountains yield to vibrant communities. Since the late 1990s, Shikoku's connection to Honshu via three expressways, featuring a network of nineteen bridges spanning the Inland Sea of Japan, has transformed its accessibility. These modern marvels bridge distances and dissolve the sense of isolation once felt by Shikoku's inhabitants, fostering connectivity and fostering new horizons for "the four provinces.
