Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan is the ninth largest nation in the world and covers a massive 2.7 million square kilometres, an equivalent size to Western Europe. Part of the former Soviet Union, Kazakhstan has been brought into the western limelight by the comedian Sasha Baron Cohen (the creator of Ali G.) and his controversial character Borat. The Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry did not receive Borat with open arms but, without this character, western knowledge of Kazakhstan surely wouldn’t be what it is today!
