Curaçao

Curaçao, formerly part of the Netherlands Antilles and prior to that the Dutch West Indies, is a Lesser Antilles island located in the southern Caribbean Sea. The island was originally colonised by Arawaks before being enslaved by the Spanish conquistadors.

    The Old Quarry Golf Course at the Santa Barbara Plantation lies close to Mount Tafelberg, a craggy slab of limestone where they still mine marble in the southeast corner of Curaçao.

    The former Blaauw plantation was transformed into the Blue Bay Golf and Beach Resort in the 1990s and American architect Rocky Roquemore was drafted in to design a par 72, 18-hole championship layout.
