
The Iowa Golf Association has been serving male golfers in the state since 1900. The ladies equivalent, the Iowa Women’s Golf Association, was formed in 1927 though, interestingly, female golfers had been playing tournaments in conjunction with the men’s state events since 1902.

A C.H. Alison design from 1924, the course at Davenport Country Club was remodelled by Bob Lohman in 2000 when he created a new 1st hole and realigned the 9th, moving the green close to Conduit Creek.

Echo Valley Country Club is a 27-hole facility located 10 minutes from downtown Des Moines. It was founded in 1969 by E.C. “Eddie” Coppola and Hy Diamond. The land on which Echo Valley was built had been used by Coppola to raise quarter horses including Hall of Fame Member, Coy's Bonanza.

Hyperion Field Club started as a social club in 1900. In 1903 they built a clubhouse adjacent to Waveland Golf Course in Des Moines where they would play matches. In 1907 they purchased land North of Des Moines known at the time as Johnston Station.
