Situated ten miles southwest of downtown Fort Worth, Mira Vista Country Club was formed in the mid-1980s, when Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish routed an 18-hole layout around a 625-acre residential development.
Designed by Keith Foster, the front nine at The Quarry in San Antonio is styled as a links golf course with deep bunkers and sloping greens whilst the back nine is routed around an old limestone quarry.
Located half an hour’s drive north of Houston, the Island course at the Clubs of Kingwood is a mid-1970s Joe Finger design with tight, tree-lined fairways and a par five finishing hole regarded as one of the toughest in Texas.
Originally laid out by Des Muirhead in 1972, the course at Bent Tree Country Club was renovated thirty years later by Keith Foster. This challenging layout has hosted events on both the LPGA and Champions Tours.
Branded “The World’s Only NFL Themed Golf Club,” the course at The Cowboys Golf Club offers a surprisingly engaging test for all golfers, whether or not they’re fans of the Gridiron club.
Situated four miles south west of Dallas, architect John Colligan gave Stevens Park Golf Course a makeover in 2011, when all the tees, fairways, bunkers and greens were renovated and 900 new trees were planted.
Tom Kite (assisted by Roy Bechtol and Randy Russell) laid out the original 18 holes at The Club at Comanche Trace in 2000 (now called The Hills and The Valley nines) before Jay Morrish added a further 9-hole circuit (called The Creeks) in 2008.
The Lakes at Castle Hills was formed as The Golf Club at Castle Hills in 1999 before a five-month course renovation (and a name change) took place in 2011, when new bunkers and greens were also installed.
Template holes from eleven famous Scottish links courses were used by Tripp Davis to create the course at The Tribute Golf Club. Golfers even have to drive over a shed to the right of the tee at the Road Hole 17th.
Configured as three 6-hole circuits to allow for short round options, the 18-hole layout at High Meadow Ranch Golf Club is a Tim Nugent and David Ogrin co-design that’s set within a forested property in the southwest of Montgomery County.
