The Cooks are an idyllic Pacific island group, lying in the centre of the Polynesian Triangle, flanked to the west by The Kingdom of Tonga and the Samoas and to the east by Tahiti and the islands of French Polynesia. The Cook Islands consist of 15 islands with a total population of approximately 19,000. Their tourist industry is aimed mainly at romantic breaks for couples.
Unfortunately the islands are a bit of a disappointment for golfers. With only two flat and rather rudimentary courses from which to choose, we suggest hiring golf clubs rather than taking your own if travelling to these Pacific islands. The better of the two 9-hole courses is on the west coast of Rarotonga, while the Aitutaki public course, located quite near to the airport, is even more rudimentary.
