Guam is an island in the Pacific Ocean. Guam is a vast 209 square miles within the western part of the Pacific Ocean, is designated as an unincorporated zone in the USA and is the largest and southernmost of the Mariana Islands. The island was taken over by Japanese during the month of December, 1941 the island was retaken by American troops following fierce combat in July 1944. there are still a number of major military bases situated within this important and strategically important island. With the fighting from World War II long over and the economy of Guam is largely dependent on visitors from all over the world, including, Japan, and a significant portion of them will be playing golf at most at least one of seven golf courses located on Guam when they are on vacation.
