Papua New Guinea

About
Papua New Guinea lies 100 miles north of Australia in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, comprising the eastern half of the island of New Guinea, along with over 600 small offshore islands. It is said to be one of the most diverse nations in the world, with its 6 million inhabitants speaking over 800 different languages!
Sport plays an important part in the culture of Papua New Guinea and the national game is rugby league, though Australian Rules Football, soccer and rugby union have grown in popularity in recent years. Golf, unfortunately, remains the preserve of tourists and only a very small percentage of the locals play.
