Streamsong gives you five golf courses from four of the most admired design teams in the game, on a landscape no other resort in America can offer. Mosaic mined 16,000 acres of Polk County for phosphate and left behind sand ridges, deep bowls and lakes the colour of glass. Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw's Red and Tom Doak's Blue opened across it in 2012, and golfers who arrive expecting Florida find Scotland instead.
The Streamsong Red tracks the perimeter of the property and brings water into play more often than its neighbour, while Streamsong Blue climbs and falls through the dunes with the most links-like rhythm of the three. Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner opened Streamsong Black on its own tract in September 2017, a par 73 with eleven acres of putting surface and greens you can putt from 40 yards short of. Play all three and the argument over which is best will keep your group going long into the evening.
Coore and Crenshaw returned to build The Chain, 19 short holes you can take on as a six or 13-hole loop on arrival day, in the last of the light, or twice if the golf has hold of you. David McLay Kidd's Bone Valley makes five, and preview rounds are open now before its 2027 debut. Fairways run wide, forced carries are rare, and spoil heaps rise close to 100 feet (30 metres) above the sand, so the ground game rewards you the way it does on a true links. Take a caddie and you will see angles you would never find alone.
The Lodge sits a mile from the Red and Blue, six storeys of glass and timber looking over a lake stocked with trophy bass. Guides will take you out on the water at dawn. AcquaPietra, the grotto spa of carved stone and warm pools, will put your legs back together after 36 holes. Nine restaurants and lounges run from SottoTerra, the Italian room beneath the Lodge, to Bone Valley Tavern and its Florida seafood under 360-degree views, with Rooftop 360 for a cocktail as the sun drops. Sporting clays, archery and The Loft's simulators and pool tables fill any hour you are not playing.
Everything sits inside the gates. No highways, no condos, nothing between you and the sunrise. Tampa and Orlando are both 90 minutes away, which makes this the rare buddies trip that costs you half a day of travel rather than two. Two nights covers the Red and the Blue with The Chain before you fly; three adds the Black and Bone Valley without a single rushed tee time.
Streamsong Lodge is the heart of the resort: 216 rooms across six storeys, designed by Alberto Alfonso and opened in January 2014. Floor-to-ceiling glass and timber louvres frame the lake, the golf or the sunset, and studio suites give you space to spread out while parlour suites give a group somewhere to gather. Rich linens, robes and boutique bathroom amenities come as standard, and every room holds a copy of A Land Remembered. Step outside your door and the spa, the heated pool with its cabanas, the rooftop bar and the restaurants are all a short walk away.
The Clubhouse Experience is the one to book if your group wants the golf on its doorstep. Twelve rooms sit above the Red and Blue clubhouse, a few paces from both first tees, taken as a whole so the building becomes yours: eight king rooms, four double queens, a private butler, airport transport and golf carts included. The Player's Den holds a private bar, a pool table, card tables and screens for the game, with a reception laid on each night.
The Bunker Experience suits a group of eight to ten. Seven guest rooms open onto a suite with pool and card tables, which makes it the natural home for a matchplay week where the needle matters as much as the golf.
The Golf Cabins are the newest way to stay and are taking bookings for 2027. Private bedrooms ring a shared living space, the water sits at your back, a mudroom by the door swallows the bags and shoes, and both the Lodge and The Chain are a stroll away.
Wherever you stay, the resort fee covers valet parking, the shuttle that runs across the property, in-room internet, 24-hour access to the fitness centre and entry to The Loft.
