Andy visits Turkey's Cornelia

17th August 2008

Andy was in Turkey last week and managed to pay another visit to one of the newer courses in the Belek region, The Cornelia. The main reason was to see Ali Sahin, (pictured left) who is the Director of Golf at the Nick Faldo designed course and to congratulate him and his team as The Cornelia has just been placed as Turkey’s No.1 course in our recent re-rankings.

The course opened in late 2006 and to be elevated to the highest ranked course in the country is a tremendous achievement in such a short time.

Ali Sahin was very pleased with the announcement of the new positioning and was equally happy that as well as being Turkey’s new number 1, this also equates to an overall continental Europe ranking of 14th.

Andy’s view is that the Cornelia has 27 fantastic holes that are challenging, fair and enjoyable to play. Along with high quality off course facilities, the Cornelia has moved the standard of golf to

the next level here on Turkey’s Belek coast.
