Greg Norman course for Egypt

Troon Golf, the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce it has been selected by SODIC, Egypt’s leading real estate developer, to manage Allegria, the first Greg Norman signature golf course in Egypt.

The Allegria development comprises modern residential and commercial facilities set within acres of pristine parkland, designed with young families and children in mind. The Norman-designed golf course is situated within close proximity to the center of Cairo, Egypt with incredible views of the ancient pyramids and is scheduled to open in 2009. The course represents Norman’s and Troon Golf’s first project in Egypt, as well as Allegria’s most prized amenity. It provides stunning backdrops for the development’s luxurious villas and townhouses and features state-of-the-art facilities including a clubhouse, golf academy and driving range.

The official signing ceremony between Troon Golf and SODIC took place in Cairo early today, coinciding with Norman’s visit to review construction of the first 9 holes.

Mark Chapleski, vice president, operations, Middle East, Troon Golf, attended the ceremony and stated, “We are pleased to announce Troon Golf’s first management contract in Egypt and believe that Allegria will develop into one of the most spectacular golf facilities in our international portfolio. Our industry-leading best practices and management skills, combined with SODIC’s proven experience and the design talent of Greg Norman, are the ideal ingredients for success at Allegria.”

A five-star boutique hotel and a luxury spa are included in the extensive list of the community’s amenities, which is setting new standards in the ancient city of Cairo. Allegria aims to change the way people live and work and reflects an ambitious goal of creating a true world-class development.

“Troon Golf is the international leader in luxury golf course management and we are happy to partner with them,” stated Maher Maksoud, CEO, SODIC. “The company’s experience, worldwide network and course maintenance will be fully utilized to meet Allegria’s standard for perfect playing conditions and the best level of quality and service."
