Palmerstown House to cease using PGA brand

PGA asked the luxury estate to remove all PGA signage after PGA license lapsed

The Irish Times - Thursday, November 5, 2009

A luxury golf hotel has agreed to cease using marketing material related to the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) as part of its trading operations, the High Court heard yesterday.

Bridford Properties Ltd, part of the Jim Mansfield group of companies, has been operating the Palmerstown House Country Hotel near Johnstown, Co Kildare, under licence, as the “PGA National Ireland at Palmerstown House Estate”.

The court heard yesterday the licence terminated last May and the PGA had asked the hotel to remove all PGA signage from the hotel.

Mr Justice Roderick Murphy adjourned the matter to next month after he was told Bridford had undertaken to remove the PGA material.
