The World’s Top 100 Golf Courses ranked for 2009
8th September 2009
Top 100 Golf Courses, home of the most informed golf course rankings in the world, is pleased to announce its 2009 rankings of the Top 100 Golf Courses of the World.
The Top 100 website has featured rankings under many categories for a number of years, but it has been two long years since we updated our rankings for the Top 100 Golf Courses of the World.
Our rankings take into account every shred of ranking data published and we consider golf courses from every country in the world. Additionally we carefully watch the golf clubs and listen to the hundreds of thousands of visitors that surf the Top 100 website.
The result, we think, is our best ever World rankings and they are certainly our most informed, but we know that many eyebrows will be raised as some clubs have slipped dramatically and others have risen meteorically. Naturally we all know that ranking golf courses is a subjective business especially given that fewer people have played the entire World Top 100 ranked courses than the number of astronauts to have set foot on the moon.
It is a shame that the vast majority of American courses ranked in our World Top 100 are reserved for club members and their guests. This clearly makes getting a game rather difficult. Thankfully all but two European courses are accessible to visitors providing they follow the simple etiquette of phoning ahead to book a game.
We actively encourage feedback, so if you’d like to contact us please send us an email to mailto:info@top100golfcourses.com
