Top 30 Golf Courses in Wales 2011
There are more than 200 golf courses in Wales and we’ve featured around fifty of the best Welsh courses on the Top 100 website for a number of years. But, up until now, we only ranked the country’s Top 20 courses with the remainder featured as Gems. Following thorough research and analysis of every single Welsh course, we are pleased to announce our new and extended Welsh rankings.
Naturally, the two famous Welsh Royals continue to head the table, but there is a fair level of movement elsewhere in our new Top 30. We made a trip recently to play a number of courses in north Wales and Conwy Golf Club left a lasting impression. It’s great to see Conwy climbing up the rankings and we think Conwy could be a future Britain & Ireland Top 100 course.

Close inspection of our new Wales ranking table will show Pyle & Kenfig, host to the Senior Ladies British Open Amateur Championship in 2009, is our highest climber, closely followed by Conwy. Our highest new entry is Llandrindod Wells, straight in at No.12 and it’s one of our Welsh correspondent’s favourite courses along with Pennard and the Rolls of Monmouth. He also highly rates Welshpool and Clyne and these two relatively unknown Welsh courses make up a list of thirteen new courses that obtain a coveted ranking position for the first time.
